The ecological transition, long predicted, is making itself felt in economic concerns and activities. It is reflected in particular in measures taken to deal with climate change and the questioning of current modes of production and lifestyles. It requires a genuine transformation of the existing economic models of production pathways. It is giving rise to new needs and changes in occupations; consequently, the new skills required have to be identified, together with the ways in which they are acquired. As far as education and training programmes are concerned, the studies have sought to identify the environmental programmes and have observed a significant “greening” of the training offer. As far as employment is concerned, the aim is to pinpoint  the changes taking place and the so-called “green” or “greening” occupations, as well as the skills associated with them.
