The Rainbow Years Project will develop a suite of new materials to support the delivery of mid-life skills reviews.  The target population is adults around 50 years of age with low levels of basic skills. The new materials will be experimented within 6 EU countries : England, Finland, Spain, Italy, Germany and France, in their own language. They will take the form of new e-learning modules for reviewers such as union representatives helping reviewees to value their skills during the mid-life careers review (MLCR). This project will run from November 2017 to December 2019 and will involve 3 Céreq researchers.

Partner Meeting in Helsinki from the  12th to 14th of February 2019

Jean-Marie Dubois attended the fourth Partner Meeting of the Rainbow Years Erasmus+ project in Helsinki (Finland) on the 12th to 14th of February 2019. The main objectives of this meeting, organised by TSL (Työväen Sivistysliitto) Finnish team, were to work on the content of the training course. Each of all national partners brought practitioners, such as union representatives, members of the public employment service, or association for the employment of migrants. The Céreq came with Mario Correia, current director of the Regional Labour Institute (IRT, Institut Regional Travail, https://irt.univ-amu.fr/), who will organise the training to Unions Representatives.

Mostly by doing role plays, the main objectives were to better know the different ways to use this online tool and to talk about the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of this tool. All discussions and debates will help TSL to build all materials that will be used to organise the different training courses within each country. Indeed, each of the practitioners will have train in spring 2019 between 4 or 6 colleagues (reviewers) who will help low qualified and old workers (reviewees) to value their skills.

Partner Meeting in London on the 29th and 30th of November 2018

Aline Valette-Wursthen and Jean-Marie Dubois attended the third Partner Meeting of the Rainbow Years Erasmus+ project in London on the 29th and 30th of November. The main objectives of this meeting were to present the online tool named « Value My Skills » that has been developed by the Trades Union Congress (TUC), as one of the project outputs (more information on https://www.unionlearn.org.uk/supporting-mid-life-development). This tool is a support to Mid-Life Skills Review helping older workers to identify their skills and think about next steps of their career.

During the London Meeting, partners exchanged and commented the pilot version of the online tool and worked on the content of the training course, that will be managed by TSL (Työväen Sivistysliitto) Finnish team on the 12th to 14th of February 2019, in Helsinki (Finland). During this training course, practitioners will be trained to understand the purposes and the ways to use this online tool. In the French case, members of the Regional Labour Institute (IRT, Institut Regional Travail, https://irt.univ-amu.fr/), will be there as future providers of the training to Unions Representatives. Indeed, this course will be part of their new training offer.

As a dissemination activity, on morning the 29th, TUC has organised a tour of the House of Parliament and more precisely the Chamber of Commons guided by Labour MP Bambos Charalambous. After following some of the MPs' debates within the Chamber of Commons, all partners had the chance to present the Rainbow Years Project, its issues and goals, to the MP Bambos Charalambous who is particularly interested in this field.
